WELCOME TO THE COMMUNITY HEALTH NETWORK INDIANAPOLIS MARATHON AND HALF MARATHONThank you for your interest in the 14th Annual Indianapolis Marathon and Half Marathon at Fort Benjamin Harrison. We are very excited about the 14th Annual Community Health Network Indianapolis MARATHON and HALF-MARATHON which includes a 4-Person MARATHON RELAY, a 5K Run/Walk, and the KIDS MARATHON. We are a mid-size race by design and we take pride in putting on a 1st CLASS event and making sure to provide the personal touch for the participants, all at a very reasonable price. Last year we had 5,925 entrants for the event and we are capping the event at 6,500 participants for 2009. The MISSION of the Indianapolis Marathon and Half Marathon is to serve runners, walkers, and our community through a fun, safe, and scenic event that is a good value to participants and a positive event for our community. We strive hard to please the participants by offering a well organized and friendly event. We look forward to your participation on Saturday, October 17, 2009 and wish you all the best in your training! RACE INFORMATIONMARATHON - HALF MARATHON - 5K RUN / WALK - MARATHON RELAY - KIDS MARATHON EVENT HIGHLIGHTSThis scenic race starts and finishes in historical Fort Benjamin Harrison and takes participants on a beautiful loop of the State Park during the peak of the fall foliage spectacle. The full and half marathon courses are mainly flat with some early rolling hills around miles 3 and 5. There is a challenging hill just past mile 10 in the State Park. • Indianapolis Marathon and Half Marathon early registration fees are some of the most reasonable in the country!
• Gatorade will be provided at 19 aid stations along the course as well as at the finish line. • Carb-Boom Energy gel will be provided near miles 17 and 21. • USATF Certified courses featuring Electronic timing and scoring. • The 2009 Indianapolis Marathon is a Boston Marathon Qualifier for both their 2010 and 2011 races! • Free post race fall festival cookout. • Premium long sleeve T-shirts for all participants. • Outstanding MEDALS presented to Marathon, Half Marathon, Marathon Relay, and 5K finishers. • Plenty of Free Parking at the race site for all race weekend activities. • Results posted on our website for participant’s convenience at www.IndianapolisMarathon.com. • Fantastic course support with attentive volunteers. • Race photos by Brightroom Professional Event Photography available at www.brightroom.com. • You can feel good about your participation in this race knowing that last year this race helped raise over $100,000 for local charities and we hope to do even more in 2009.
